Crazy for rocks

The first thing I see when I walk through my front door is my nature table.
*...there's the slice of wood I rescued from one of the oldest Cottonwood trees in Littleton. I sanded it, gave it a light stain, some clear varnish.
*...then there are the rocks that my sister and I collected on the side of the road at Raton Pass. Her car broke down, help wasn't coming for hours, we saw the side of a mountain, we did what any self-respecting, nature-loving young women would do, we went rock hunting! And wow, we found some beauties.
*...there is a giant black bug (still researching what the heck "he" is); the birch wood tree trunk (now that's a story!); a chunk of Amazonite from our family cabin, gifts of minerals and crystals from loved ones who know me well.
Maybe I should move outside.

Very impressive! How wonderful that you see that when you open the door to your home.

We think alike Thea..I have a nature bowl outside my front door. It is filled with bits and pieces that I started collecting in Australia..three countries/homes ago :) I love coming home in Surrey to driftwood and sea shells especially now that I live 2 hours away from the ocean.

Jeanne :)
