BELLOCCHIO!! If you find yourself in Colorado in the next week or two, you may want to saunter down to The Denver Art Museum where they are featuring an exhibit of 40 Impressionistic landscape paintings thru September 4Th. The show is titled, "Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism" and features paintings like the examples below. Left: Poppies on the Isles of Shoals, 1890, by Fredrick Childe Hassam, Brooklyn Museum, and Right: Dolce Far Niente, 1907, John Singer Sargent, Brooklyn Museum.
And, while you're at it, cruise on down to Colorado Springs (this is a straight shot on I25, about 1 hr South of Denver) to the Fine Arts Center to see the work of one of my all time favorites, Picasso. Picasso Etchings on view thru September 14. I, for one, intend to take in both exhibits.....
