Natures' Abstractions

If anyone ever tells you they don't understand Abstract art, tell them to go take a walk in the woods. This isn't the same as telling that person to "take a hike!"... I literally mean for you to tell them to take a walk in the woods and look around a bit.  Nature is very abstract.  Here are some "marbleized" leaves created by Mother Nature herself.  I collected them on an early morning walk over the weekend.  These specimens are from the Birch tree...shapes within shapes, colors within colors, layer upon layer of abstract goodness.

I am with you Thea...isn't it amazing what nature has to offer us. I could spend hours in there with a camera any day of the year!

Love this shot!

Thanks Jeanne! and yes, nature is always showing us, in bold ways, all the design possibilities that exist.
